The spiritual importance of “women” according to  Mowlana Rumi

In the stories of Masnavi by Mowlana Rumi, He talks about the real power of a man and he reminds us that if the power is in the physical strength then the Elephant is much stronger than a man! So he sees and reminds us that the real power is Love & Tenderness.

He calls on to the men and says :

“ For years you’ve been a stone hearted man. Try being like the soil Now, If you can. “

His suggestion is to open your heart and become softhearted and find your true power which is your Love and Tenderness.

Then he calls to the men and says about the women :

“ She is not your beloved ( She doesn’t belong to you). She is an uncreated ray of light directly from God”

The poem in Farsi language is read as this :

“”” Parto e Hagh ast aan, Mashough nist.

Khalegh ast aan Gouya Makhlough nist”””

That is how Molana Rumi describes the spiritual importance of women.

Throughout history it has always been a fear of empowering the women and in many traditions and cultures women have been limited and restricted in order to stay in the shadows and not shine their lights brightly into the world.

Maybe Because it’s been a fear of the power she has when she connects to her true soul and wild nature. If a woman knows of her true power she can’t be tamed and that’s what most religions and cultures tried to suppress. Even in sufism during the years there’ve been so many restrictions for women so that they stay aside and not become in the centre of attention. One Of the examples is the sufi whirling which is prohibited for women to perform in public and still in the current time in traditional sufi celebration only men can perform the whirling and women can only witness.

But a true sufi hearted man  or any sage knows that when he reaches God part of him becomes feminine and he would never deny the immense power of the woman but embrace and acknowledge it , actually will use her power for the unity of the souls to become closer to the essence of Godliness. As God is feminine and masculine and in the realm of Love there is no discrimination of genders.

So I hope for all women to know their true power and embrace their Goddess within. Let go of all the shames, blames, Guilts and limitations ; live their beautiful femininity in touch with their true power and celebrate life in its total freedom.

Calling the women to get in touch with their wild ,authentic part and have the courage to live it out of the veils of any religion , culture or limiting beliefs.

And for all the men to also get intouch with their true power of the heart and we all celebrate life in unity and ecstasy of liberated souls…
